• Why Kappa Phi Lambda? •

There is no one, universal answer.  We encourage the exploration of all organizations to find which one suits your personality, values, and goals.  Don’t feel rushed to join any sisterhood–it is a lifelong privilege and commitment, so you want to make the right choice!  Kappa Phi Lambda uphold the pillars of Sisterhood, Service, and Cultural Diversity, therefore we exemplify these values most.

• What is recruitment? •

Recruitment is a time where you can learn about the different organizations on the USF campus.  For Kappa Phi Lambda, we host events throughout our recruitment week to inform those interested about our organization, our sisters, and what being a Kappa is all about.  All of our events are free and there is no obligation to join!  Keep an eye out on this page or our Facebook for more information about the next upcoming recruitment week!

• What are the requirements? •

In order to be eligible for a bid, we ask that you are a full-time USF student (12 credits+) and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.  The GPA requirement does not apply to incoming freshman.  Sisters are required to pay semesterly dues.  If you are unsure if you are eligible, feel free to contact our Recruitment Chair(s).

• What is a bid? •

A bid is an invitation to participate in our sorority’s New Member Process.  In order to qualify for a bid, we ask for you to attend Convocation (the 2nd Tuesday of every semester), at least 2 social recruitment events, a General Interest Meeting (GIM), and participate in an interview.  If you were to receive a bid, that is confidential information and should not be shared with anyone.

• What is the New Member Process? •

Our New Member Process is the learning period where you get to know the Sisters of Kappa Phi Lambda, your potential Line Sisters, and our organization as a whole.  We do not participate in nor condone hazing activities.

• Will the New Member Process affect my academics? •

We like to compare the New Member Process to a 3-credit college course.  We emphasize the importance of academic excellence in our organization and would never hinder our potential Sisters from achieving that.  Academics come first–it’s all about time management!
